MUKAH: An elderly rider tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident at KM5, Jalan Mukah-Oya yesterday (Aug 1).
The victim, identified as Buang Mohamad, 69, was travelling from Kampung Judan towards Mukah at around 6 am when the accident occurred.
According to Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, it is believed that the motorcycle skidded and crashed by the roadside, leading to the fatal outcome.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and his body was later taken to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.
The police is currently investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
