RM1.2mil for four IRSDA projects in Simunjan

SIMUNJAN: Some RM1.2mil has been approved under the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA) for four projects in Simunjan.

In a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) report, Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said the projects involving seven villages would be implemented by the Samarahan Division Irrigation and Drainage Department.

“The villages are Kampung Terasi, Kampung Empelas, Kampung Simunjan Jaya, Kampung Tanjung Harapan, Kampung Tanjung Pisang, Kampung Sedilo and Kampung Sungai Lingkau.

“Among the projects are the proposal to build an agricultural road. The road, which is 270m long costing RM275,625 includes the construction of culverts,” he said after inspecting the project site and witnessing the handover of the projects to the contractors recently.

Awla said the next proposed project included building a bridge in Kampung Empelas, Kampung Simunjan Jaya, Kampung Tanjung Harapan and Kampung Tanjung Pisang.

He said the project value for all four villages amounted to RM250,487.64 while the third project was the proposal to build a concrete bridge to Sedilo pineapple orchard, which costs RM374,194 and measuring 12m long and 4.5m wide.

“The last project is a proposal to build a concrete bridge across Sungai Lubuk Jerin in Kampung Sungai Lingkau, also measuring 12m long and 4.5m wide, costing RM335,168,” he disclosed.

Awla also reminded the contractors that the projects must be completed within the stipulated period.
