The handover marks the start of work to upgrade the infrastructure at SMK Kalaka.

A sum of RM200,000 allocated under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) will be utilised to enhance the infrastructure of SMK Kalaka.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Sarawak government to improve infrastructure, particularly for schools whose premises are owned by the federal government.

He stressed that this demonstrates the government’s commitment to education and student development, with the aim of providing the best infrastructure for conducive learning environments.

The RTP project is being implemented by the Saratok District Council (MDS), with JSN Construction selected as the contractor through a tender process.

He urged the school to monitor the project’s implementation to ensure it is completed on schedule and meets the specified specifications.

The infrastructure upgrade project for SMK Kalaka was marked by a brief handover ceremony on Monday (Sept 11), with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, Kalaka Branch secretary Gapor Ahmad representing Mohamad at the event.

Further RTP projects for the Kalaka DUN are expected to be handed over to contractors in the near future as efforts continue to support schools in the region.
