DEBAK: The Sarawak government has allocated RM255,000 to 14 mosques and 23 suraus in the Saribas constituency, which can be used by the management committees to improve the facilities of the houses of worship and carry out religious programmes.

Deputy Community Welfare Minister Mohammad Razi Sitam said that the government is committed to improving community development in the state and always cares about the welfare of the community, as demonstrated through the distribution of allocations.

“Our intention is to improve community development in the state, and to that end, we have distributed a total of RM255,000 through the Saribas service centre to 14 mosques and 23 suraus,”said Razi.

“Each mosque received RM10,000 and each surau received RM5,000, which can be used for programme organising assistance, maintenance, replacement of facilities, or any other necessities that can benefit the residents.”

Razi, who is also the Saribas assemblyman, said this at the allocation handover ceremony to mosques and suraus in Saribas constituency at Dewan Millenia today.
