KUCHING: The Sarawak government has allocated RM400,000 for schools in Mulu constituency to undergo repairs and renovation.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala said despite education coming under the purview of Putrajaya, the state government still channels funds to improve the schools, especially in rural areas.

“The state has allocated funds amounting to RM400,000 to repair the schools in Mulu.

“Besides that, the government is also currently in the process of developing five international schools in the state,” he was quoted as saying by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) in a news report.

The Mulu assemblyman attended the Sekolah Menengah (SK) Long Banga excellence award presentation and graduation ceremony at the Kampung Long Banga community hall recently.

Later at the event, he handed over a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM10,000 to the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG).
