SERIAN: Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totalling RM460,000 were disbursed to 54 recipients in Tebedu.

The recipients comprised clubs, associations, and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in the Tebedu area.

Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada presented the Phase 1 MRP cheques during a ceremony on Wednesday.

He advised all grant recipients to use the funds responsibly for the benefit of their respective associations and villages.

Meanwhile, regarding the household income in the area, Sinang said that the average is currently at RM5,000.

“However, by 2030, the Sarawak government hopes that the people’s income will reach RM15,000 per household.

“It can be achieved through the efforts and commitment of teachers, parents, community leaders, and others to encourage our children to succeed in various fields,” he said.

Also present was Deputy Resident of Serian Caroline Cleophas Joseph.
