RM650k upgrading projects for Igan

MATU: Three Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) upgrading projects will be implemented in Igan constituency.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya was present to witness the hand-over of the RTPs by the representative of the Mukah Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) to the successful contractor.

Matu District Officer Wan Hipni Wan Mohamad was also present to witness the handover ceremony.

The three projects are the upgrading of the waterfront in Kampung Baru Ismail, Igan worth RM300,000; the upgrading of waterfront in Kampung Pulau, Igan (RM200,000) and the upgrading of the concrete bridge in Kampung Sekerang Igan (RM150,000).

Dr Juanda hoped that the projects can be completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to the set specifications.

Upon completion, the projects will provide convenience to the residents in terms of economy as well as attracting visitors to the area.

In another development, Dr Juanda, who is the Jemoreng assemblyman, handed over MRP grants to several recipients in the constituency.

The hand-over ceremony was held at Kampung Igan and a total of 20 recipients comprising the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) received grants of RM115,000 each.
