KUCHING: Upgrading works on Belaga-Menjawah Road in the Kapit Division is currently at 13.15 per cent completion.
The road which links Belaga Town to Bakun Road was constructed under the Jiwa Murni programme and completed in 2016.
State Public Works Department (JKR) in press statement said it had been decided that the 33.8km road is to be upgraded and rehabilitated to R1 JKR Standard.
“The physical progress is 13.15 per cent at the moment and is scheduled to be completed in May, 2020,” the statement said.
JKR added that a longer time is required to upgrade and rehabilitate the road which was constructed under the Jiwa Murni programme.
It also said the completion of the road upgrading and rehabilitation will provide better and safer road to users particularly to the people of Belaga.
