BINTULU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Iskandar Turkee views Nov 4 as a big challenge for him.

He said the polling date will serve as an evaluation of his ability to take care of the needs of over 22,000 residents in the Jepak state constituency.

“This is a very big test for me. I must admit that the campaign period has been quite challenging for me,” he said during a Media with GPS Candidate programme held here on Sunday (Oct 29) evening.

Iskandar also said he was using an approach derived from his experience to address the issues faced by the people in Jepak.

“Drawing from my background as a former civil servant, I have adopted a similar method used in dealing with the concerns and challenges of the community I represent.

“This approach is advantageous because, like civil servants, we also operate based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic plans. This will be my guiding system to help Jepak thrive in line with the goals of the GPS government,” he said.

On a related note, he expressed appreciation for the media’s role in reporting campaign-related news, as it has helped him have a better understanding of the community’s needs.

“The media has not only provided me with a platform but has also offered the local community a chance to have their voices heard.

“This has enabled me to identify the community’s requirements that I must address if elected as their representative,” he said.
