PUSA: The MyLesen Assistance Programme, aimed at encouraging legal motorcycle riding in rural areas, has been launched with strong backing.

Batang Lupar assemblyman Mohamad Shafizan Kepli highlighted the programme’s significance, emphasising its role in aiding the underprivileged to obtain a motorcycle license (Class B2).

“The increasing cost of living has made it difficult for many communities to afford a license. This often leads to the dangerous practice of riding motorcycles without license.

“Through MyLesen, we’re not just issuing licenses, but also promoting safe riding practices,” Shafizan said during Batang Lupar Parliamentary MyLicense Programme at Dataran Tandang Sari yesterday.

The MyLesen initiative, developed through a collaboration between the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Community Service Centre, aims to enhance road safety by ensuring more riders are licensed.

The programme’s success was evident during a recent practical test here, with nearly 1,000 participants.

“The response was very encouraging,” he added, revealing plans to extend the test to Sebuyau and Lingga.
