“The water supply in Serian Division needs to be upgraded and improved, where the Sarawak government itself will allocate a fund of RM1.03bil under RMK12,” he told the media after chairing the State Development Coordination Committee Meeting (SDCCM) at the Serian Conference Centre today (Nov 16).

However, he acknowledged that the water supply upgrade project might not be completed by 2025 due to accessibility challenges in some areas.

“We feel that some of these projects may not be fully completed by 2025 due to accessibility challenges in some areas.

“However, it can go beyond one year or two to ensure that water supply reaches the targeted areas in Serian.”

Additionally, Abang Johari shared that a total of 80 projects, with a total ceiling of RM368.6mil, will be implemented in Serian Division.
