Sarawak Independence Convoy reaches Sebauh

BINTULU: The Sarawak 60 Years Independence Convoy, which began in the Bintulu Division, made its way to the Sebauh district led by Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurship Development, Dolhadi Mazuki.

The convoy included 40 motorcycle participants from the Bintulu Bikers Community and Central Zone Bikers, as well as 30 four-wheel-drive vehicles from the Bintulu Four Wheel Drive Club.

The symbolic start of the convoy took place at Naim Street Mall Bintulu Paragon at 9 am, where Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip waved off the Sarawak Flag and the Sarawak 60 Years Independence Flag.

Former Sarawak football players Dahlan Matusin and Zapri Manai, and national taekwondo athlete Marylyne Bungan Lian also participated in the flag-off session.

Upon arriving in the Sebauh District, the convoy received a warm welcome from Minister of Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development and Kemena assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom.

The arrival was marked by a lion dance, the rhythmic beat of kompang drums, and various cultural performances.

Also present were Bintulu Divisional Resident Nyurak Keti, Sebauh District Officer William Manggoi, and Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier Jenny Bangga.
