KUCHING: Sarawak has to adopt the latest technology to keep pace with technological advancement and innovation which is dynamic in nature.

Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi reckons this is one way to drive the state’s economic progress.

Through the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) and the 6th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS), he said the large-scale event served as a platform to share knowledge on technology and innovation, especially among the exhibitors.

“Through this event, they (exhibitors) can get to know and meet up with our local entrepreneurs and innovators.

“So directly and indirectly, it will be able to have an impact on our efforts to develop our economy as we need to keep pace with what’s happening around the world.

“Therefore,  I believe that it can have a big impact on Sarawak in its aspiration to be a high income state by 2030,” Julaihi told reporters after officiating at the Welcoming Reception for WCIT-IDECS 2023 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday (Oct 3).
