MIRI: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has called on Sarawakians to continue supporting Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s leadership to ensure the seamless execution of the state’s development agenda.

Speaking at the Chinese New Year Dinner organised by SUPP Miri-Sibuti Parliamentary Liaison Committee on Monday (Feb 12), Dr Sim stressed the importance of asserting Sarawak’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

He highlighted key areas such as education and health autonomy, crucial for achieving the objectives outlined in the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).

Dr Sim stated that under PCDS 2030, Sarawak aims to achieve a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of RM282bil by 2030.

“Therefore, we all need to work together to provide support to the Premier so that in 2030, what we have done for 60 years before, we can do it in another six years.

“This is to ensure that Sarawak not only emerges as a high-income state, but that each household also has high income so that every citizen becomes prosperous,” he stated.
