Students obtain the outstanding score for IGCSE.

KUCHING: 2023 was another successful year for St. Joseph’s International School (SJIS) as both the Year Nine and Year 11 students achieved outstanding results in their Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations respectively.

The school said that for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint results, there are eight students who obtained a perfect score of 50 in all three subjects.

“Not only that, nine students achieved an overall score between 145 and 149 in all three subjects.

“The number of students attaining outstanding score are 31 students (42 per cent), attained outstanding score in all three subjects taken, 39 students (58 per cent) attained outstanding score in English, 52 students (70 per cent) attained outstanding score in Mathematics, 48 students (65 per cent) attained outstanding score in Science.

“Our school achieved an overall Year Nine checkpoint average result of 41 (English), 42 (Mathematics) and 42 (Science), which is much higher than the International Average result of 33 (English), 31 (Mathematics) and 31 (Science),” it said in a press release.

It then stated on January 18, the 2023 batch of graduates received their IGCSE results with genuine joy and excitement and the cohort, though small, has a total of 52 students.

“A total of seven students obtained straight As with two students achieved straight 9A while four students achieved 6A and 2A and one student achieved 3A and 5A.

“We are thrilled with the exceptional accomplishments achieved in the recent Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint.

“The overall performance in the IGCSE examinations was commendable, meeting the school’s high expectations,” it added.

The school then extends heartfelt congratulations to the students for their outstanding performance.

“Additionally, we express our sincere appreciation to the parents and teachers whose unwavering efforts, guidance, and support played a pivotal role in contributing to this remarkable success.
