141 pilgrims arrive home

KUCHING: Some 141 Sarawak KT32Q pilgrims for the 1443H/2022M Hajj season landed safely at Kuching International Airport (KIA) around 5.25pm yesterday afternoon.

The arrival of the first group of Sarawak pilgrims was welcomed by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and other guests of honour.

Upon the arrival of the congregation, the State Grand Imam Sahibul Fadhillah Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi recited the blessing prayer.

Abdul Rahman also congratulated the Hajj Fund for being able to fully manage the Hajj related affairs of all pilgrims from Sarawak this year and was grateful that all of them had returned in good health.

This year, a total of 397 pilgrims from Sarawak went to the Holy Land to fulfill the fifth Pillar of Islam and the rest arrived in Kuching yesterday evening.

Also present to greet the first group of Sarawak pilgrims were Tabung Haji chairman Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Sarawak Islamic Council chairman Datuk Misnu Taha, TH Sabah and Sarawak regional director Datin Nurlaila Said, Tabung Haji Sarawak director Amat Kassim Pait and JAKIM Sarawak director Hamdan Jar’ee.
