BETONG: Secondary school students who have completed the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) in 2022 and are still looking for a place to continue their studies are invited to enrol in pursuing the Tourism Expedition Certificate at Betong Community College.

Its director Andrew Douglas Gudam said that registration is still open until February 22.

“Come register at Betong Community College to pursue the Tourism Expedition Certificate.

“This offer is open to those interested in venturing into the field of Tourism Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET),” he told Suara Sarawak on Wednesday.

What is more interesting, he explained, is that Community Colleges offer lower tuition fees compared to universities or other colleges.

This, he said, makes Betong Community College a more economical choice for students who want to obtain qualifications without burdening themselves with high educational debt.

“The Community College Student Financial Aid Program (BKPKK) is also available to low-income families (B40) – subject to terms and conditions.

“Eligible students will receive financial assistance of RM4,500 throughout their studies,” he said.

Andrew added that the study programmes at Betong Community College often emphasise practical learning and skills relevant to the industry.

“The impact is providing students with a good preparation to enter the job market or choose to continue their studies at a higher level,” he added.
