SDMC announces 20 localities under total lockdown

KUCHING: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be imposed at a total of 20 localities in Tatau, Bintulu, Sri Aman, Beluru, Sarikei, Saratok, Kanowit, and Sibu.

“The EMCO will be enforced at Rh Ngumbang Ajum, Nanga Sidang, Tatau from May 22 to June 4,” Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in a statement today (May 28).

The EMCO will be enforced at five localities in Bintulu, namely S4-S5 Foreign Lodge, Local Lodge L2-L3, The Tulu, Rh Sewa Leader Garage, and Rh Nompang Banda, Sg Sujan, Pandan, from May 27 to June 9.

In the Sri Aman Division, the EMCO will be enforced at Rh Suntie, Kampung Sebujok also from May 27 until June 9.

The committee said eight localities in Beluru would be placed under the EMCO, with six lasting from May 28 to June 10 – at Rh Abok Jabu, Kampung Mulong, Ulu Teru, Tinjar; Rh Takang Ngadang, Kampung Empelam, Ulu Teru, Tinjar; Rh Henry Gomes, Kampung Mission, Ulu Teru, Tinjar; Rh Kalong Goh, Tanjung Rian, Ulu Teru, Tinjar; Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengarah Enteri, Ulu Teru, Tinjar; and Ulu Teru Health Clinic.

The other two localities in Beluru to undergo the EMCO from May 28 to June 19 are Rh Mathew Sigat, Lubok Kelambu, Ulu Teru, Tinjar and Rh Rendah Ramba, Kampung Matek, Ulu Teru, Tinjar.

“Rh Sabah Sungai Selangan, Sarikei will also be placed under the EMCO from May 28 to June 10,” said SDMC.

Two localities in Saratok – Rh Sambang Babang and Rh Tama Nanga Melupa – will undergo the EMCO from May 29 to June 11.

Rh Dullah, Sungai Tuah, Kanowit and Rh Jackson Jilan, 16th Mile, Jalan Oya, Sibu will both undergo the EMCO from May 30 until June 12.

The EMCO at Rh Jawan, Kampung Panggil; Rh Wilson Ayai, Kampung Enkeranji; Rh Martin, Kampung Enkeranji; Rh Samion Bawen, Kampung Enkeranji Ulu in Sri Aman has ended on May 27.

“The EMCO at Rh Jefferson, Selindung Ulul, Engkelili, Lubok Antu has also ended as of May 27,” SDMC said.

Ended on May 28 were the EMCO imposed at Blocks C & D, Shin Yang Workers Quarters, Kemena Industrial Estate; Block O, Sungai Plan, Bintulu; Rh Ado Bilong, Sungai Kakus, Tatau; and Rh Atom, Nanga Dendang Wak, Pakan.

On the status of districts in Sarawak, SDMC said Lubok Antu District had changed status from orange to red after recording 39 local infection cases on Friday, bringing the number of local infection cases detected in the past fortnight to 46.

Meradong District, meanwhile, has returned to orange status from red after recording 36 local infection cases in the last 14 days.

With this, the number of red status districts remained at 27 while the number of orange status districts has increased to four.

There are eight districts with yellow status and one with green status throughout the state.
