SIBU: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 25-year-old man who was reported missing at Batang Igan Bridge on Aug 24, has been temporarily called off after a fruitless seven-day search.
The decision was made around 5.40pm following discussions with the police and it would only be carried out if any new clue surfaced.
Today’s search, which entered its seventh day, was carried out via water surface searching method downstream and upstream in a 15-km search radius.
Last Wednesday (Aug 24), the victim identified as Yong Dock Ho was reported missing around 10am. He was last seen on the Batang Igan Bridge.
Yong’s family members conducted an initial search for him but only found the vehicle used with his personal belongings inside.
