KUCHING: A traffic investigating officer sustained a left femur fracture after being struck by a motorcycle evading a police roadblock on Jalan Gambier on Wednesday night (Feb 7).

Charlie Aloysius, who holds the rank of an inspector, is currently receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the senior officer sustained the injury while performing his duties during an operation codenamed ‘Ops Motosikal’ around 10.30 pm.

“Charlie, from the Kuching Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Investigation Division, was inspecting a vehicle when he was hit by a motorcycle.

Ahsmon urged any witnesses to step forward to aid in locating the motorcyclist, responsible for causing injuries to the officer.

Yesterday (Feb 8), Ahsmon, accompanied by his team, visited Charlie at SGH to offer support and donate to his welfare.

The visit also included words of encouragement from Ahsmon and his team, aiming to boost the morale of the injured officer.
