SGH plans several blood drives this week

KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank is urging the public to donate blood in order to maintain sufficient supply.

“Blood donation is quite slow during the fasting month.

“As such, there will be a number of programmes planned for this week.

“Walk-in is allowed and the times during the holy month of Ramadan are from 8am to 1.30pm, and from 2pm to 4pm, on Monday to Thursday.

“Or the public can walk-in on Friday from 8am to 12pm, and from 2pm to 4pm,” said SGH Blood Bank.

It added that Muslims could come forward to donate blood and encouraged to go between 8am and 9.30pm.

There would also be campaigns in several locations throughout this week.

Blood donors can visit Aeon Mall on April or April 5 from 10am to 2pm; the Bloom and Florist Cafe, Icom Square on April 6 from 9am to 1pm; or Everrise Mile 4 on April 7 from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, the public can go to Dewan Sang Suria of SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1 on April 8 from 9am to 1pm or Kuching Sentral (Level 2) on April 9 from 10am to 3pm.

On Sunday (April 9), there will also be another programme at Boulevard Shopping Mall (in front of Daiso), from 9am to 2pm.

“Registration counters will be closed once they have reached a target of between 30 and 150 bags of blood.
