SIBU: Only individuals who have completed both doses of the vaccination will be allowed to enter or visit the Sibu Night Market located at Butterfly Garden here effective Sept 1.

Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh said the public are required to show proof of their vaccination status to the enforcement officers before being allowed to enter.

“Apart from the Sibu Night Market, the same condition will also be mandatory in all wet markets, pasar tamu and hawker centres under the SMC administrative area,” he said.

However, Ting said visitors would also still need to check in by scanning the MySejahtera’s QR code, temperature-checking and wearing a face mask as part of the standard operating procedures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

On another note, he clarified that all hawkers including their staff and assistants operating in markets and hawker centres under the SMC administrative area have already been vaccinated.
