MIRI: Several new telecommunication towers are currently being built and will start operating by the end of this year in the Sibuti parliamentary constituency.

Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni said that these towers are part of the National Digital Network Plan Initiative (JENDELA).

Lukanisman expressed his satisfaction with the progress of these tower projects in a recent Facebook post.

He even shared aerial photos taken with a drone, indicating the towers in locations such as Kampung Padang, Rumah Selan, Kampung Bakam, Saeh, Ladang 3, Albion, Pelapi, Sungai Butir (Beraya-Kejapil), and Angus.

Last April, Lukanisman met with the Sarawak Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKM) director Adiman Ajem to discuss various matters including the construction of 18 new towers under the JENDELA initiative.

They also addressed the challenges faced by areas with weak telecommunication networks, which affect the population.

Additionally, Unifi services will soon be available in Rancangan Sepupok, Tanjong Berlipat, and Kampung Tunku Abdul Rahman.
