SMK St Anthony’s stadium ready to hold activities

SARIKEI: SMK St Anthony’s open stadium is now ready and available for use.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said that the school can now conduct school activities at any time.

In addition, he said this reflects the Sarawak government’s commitment to elevate the field of education.

“This is evident through efforts to upgrade the facilities to ensure that students can acquire knowledge in a comfortable environment,” he said.

Huang, who is also Sarikei MP, said this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the stadium as well as the closing ceremony of the school’s Jogathon programme held recently.

Touching on the Jogathon race, he also took the opportunity to congratulate the winners and shared words of encouragement to the students.

Meanwhile, Huang said SMK St Anthony has received a total of RM820,000 in funding under the Rural Transformation Project from 2020 to 2022.

At the same event, he also announced a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM50,000 for the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) of SMK St Anthony.

Also present at the ceremony were Sarikei District Education Officer Lau Ngie Tung, SMK St Anthony principal Vincent Liong, SMK St Anthony PTA chairman Anthony Chua as well as the focal person for Parental and Community Engagement and Private Sector Affairs in Sarikei Yuhid Rabaie.
