MIRI: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch will be organising World Environment Day Blood Donation this Sunday.

The said event is organised by the society’s Blood Donor Recruitment Committee at MRC Miri Branch, Jalan Bulan Sabit from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

“We seek the continuous support from the locals here in Miri to come forward and donate their blood despite the movement control order (MCO).

“This is because the Miri Hospital Blood Bank still needs blood to sustain the needs of hospital patients during these challenging times,” said the MRC branch spokesperson.

According to the society, to date, a total of 114 blood donations have been held at MRC since March 2020 after the MCO was first announced last year.

“Since then 5099 people have registered and 4306 have donated successfully at MRC Miri Branch.

“Therefore, if there are any enquiries members of the public can contact our organising chairman Karambir Singh at 0168785500,” added the spokesperson.
