KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) will be closed from May 21 to June 7 as part of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Pustaka in a statement on Wednesday (May 19) said that it has always been vigilant in taking care of its users and employees.

“With the rising numbers of daily Covid-19 cases in Sarawak, we are taking the precaution to close the library. It is also with much regret that two of our frontliners have been tested positive for Covid-19.

“We have done disinfection and sanitisation works following the guidelines from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to protect our users and employees against this pandemic,” it said.

Pustaka also said various services are still available for its members despite the closure.

“Members can still borrow books via our BookBear Services which is available from 9am until 5pm daily, except on public holidays.  On the other hand, research at the State Records Repository is available on appointment basis.
