KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) will increase monitoring operations at each ‘Pusat Tanggungjawab’ (PTj) to ensure that all the employees adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Unimas registrar Azlan Ramli said every employee need to check-in through the MySejahtera and Unimas Now apps.

“Unimas will also continue to restrict staff movement by conducting daily body temperature scanning at the main entrance of the building.”

“Currently, the staff work on a rotation basis based on the government’s suggestion, which specifies that civil service workers be reduced to a minimum of 20 percent,” he said.

Azlan, who is also a committee member of Covid-19 Unimas, said that employees who work from home are expected to scan their attendance using the Unimas WeCare app which will display their current location as well as their health status.

“These apps make it easier for Unimas to detect the current location of its staff, which assists in the detection of close contact if there is a Covid-19 infection involving our workers.

“So far, compliance with the SOPs has been fairly great, and I hoped that all staff of Unimas would continue to abide by them in order to curb the spread of Coivd-19,” he said.
