SERIAN: Sarawak team must work hard to become overall champion in the national-level Pesta Majlis Sukan dan Kebudayaan Perkhidmatan Pelajaran Malaysia (MSKPPM), said state Education Department director Dr Azhar Ahmad.

“At last year’s MSKPPM Festival, Sarawak won second place and this year we look forward to Sarawak team being the champion.

“I believe if we train hard enough, it is possible for the championship to be in our hands,” he said at the closing ceremony of the 39th state-level Pesta Persatuan Sukan dan Kebudayaan Perkhidmatan Pelajaran (PSKPP) at the Serian Sports Complex here, yesterday.

According to him, the PSKPP Festival is a platform for selecting representatives from the state level to the MSKPPM Festival.

The MSKPPM Festival will be held from Dec 15 to 21 in Malacca. “We will send a team that will participate in all ten events.

“We are confident that we can fulfill all our aspirations towards upholding Sarawak’s education with the spirit of ‘Fly Kenyalang Fly, Fly High’,” Azhar said. Last year, Sarawak sent a total of 196 participants to the MSKPPM Festival held in Kuching.
