Successful mercy flight to transfer patient from Miri to KK

The highly trained fire and rescue air unit safely transferred the patient in a mercy flight early Tuesday.

MIRI: The fire and rescue air unit executed a successful mercy flight on Tuesday (Feb 20), transferring a patient suffering from Acute Aortic Dissection from Miri Hospital to Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, for advanced medical care.

The highly trained fire and rescue air unit conducted the transfer efficiently and safely, taking off from Miri Hospital at 11am and arriving at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital approximately one hour and 15 minutes later.

Miri Hospital shared the details of the operation on its official Facebook page, noting the skilled coordination of the professional team during the transfer, ensuring the patient’s safety and wellbeing throughout the journey.

The mercy flight involved five firefighters, a pilot, and co-pilot from the Fire and

Rescue’s Air Unit, along with a medical officer and a nurse.
