KUCHING: Sarawak United FC (SUFC) head coach, B. Sathianathan hopes his team will secure three full points when facing our neighbours Sabah FC here at the State Stadium, Petra Jaya tonight.

Should victory goes their way, it will help improve their position in the Super League 2022 table, noted the coach.

“We are coming with a mission to obtain a win; it is indeed a heavy task considering the current development of the Sabah FC team at this time.

“However, I believe the opportunity to achieve our goal is still there and hope that the players who will go through the 90 minutes tonight according to our planned strategy,” said Sathianathan to Arena Suara Sarawak/New Sarawak Tribune.

He has high hope that tonight’s home match is expected to be a moment of resurgence in the quest for their first victory in the Super League 2022 campaign.

Sathianathan’s men currently remain in the bottom three, collecting just one point from the three matches played so far.

Pertaining to the fact that some key players are not able to be lined up tonight as they have not fully recovered from injuries, the former national coach does have little worries. However, he has prepared a special plan as a remedy for such shortcomings.

“The three main players (S. Chanturu, Christie Jayaseelan and Amer Saidin) have not yet been able to train due to injuries but I will risk the involvement of our reserved players to play in their current positions,” added Sathianathan.

He said, it is admitted that there are some problems with the absence of some key players especially when facing Sabah FC that are lined up with many former national players.

But Sathianathan remains optimistic that the starting line -up of his team tonight will be able to create a surprise for the squad that are famous for their nickname, the rhino.
