KUCHING: Parents are urged to focus more on their children who will sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2022/23 examination from Feb 20 to March 15.

Focal Person for Parental, Community and Private Sector Involvement in Education (PIBKS) Sarawak Datuk Rozalix Edi Wahab said that the role of parents is very important at this time as it helps to enhance the students’ morale and confidence.

“Therefore, I really hope that parents can give full commitment and cooperation to their children who will sit for the examination.

“This will be the deciding test for them for their direction in the future,” he said when met by reporters at the closing ceremony of the 17th ReQaSeni Exhibition-Enigma held at CityOne Megamall here, today.

In this regard, he also reminded parents to help in their children’s revision process by not carrying out many outside activities during the examination period.

“We don’t stop or force them, but what I want to remind them is that they need to take this exam seriously by giving full focus on their children’s education.

“Teachers have fulfilled their teaching responsibilities, our children are also learning in school. So, now is the time for parents to help make a commitment to ensure that children succeed with excellence.

“This matter is not only for the school, but also for the success of the children themselves. I hope that in the next week or two parents will be able to carry out their respective responsibilities well,” he stressed.
