BINTULU: Swift action by passers-by managed to save two vehicles from being destroyed in a fire at Jalan Durian Belanda, Taman Lucky this morning.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident happened around 6.35am at an automobile workshop.
Firemen from Bintulu station were then despatched to the scene to commence extinguishing works.
The flames had been put out by passers-by with a fire extinguisher before the team arrived.
On arrival, they found that the fire had destroyed a machine and damaged two vehicles’ bumper parts.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The team departed back to their station after ensuring that the situation is deemed safe.
