EMCO for Kampung Baji and Sungai Rassau

KUCHING: An enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be imposed in two localities in Sarawak, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC). The two areas are Kampung Baji, Sarikei and Sungai Rassau, Batang Igan, Matu starting tomorrow (April 3) until April 16. “Having made a risk assessment with various agencies on the locality where there was a sharp increase in cases during the period of five days, SDMC agreed to implement the Emco in these two areas,” it said today (April 2). Earlier in its report, it was reported that there are 36 active clusters in the state of which, 12 of the clusters reported an increase in Covid-19 cases. Presently, there are 10 red zones, four orange zones, 17 yellow zones and nine green zones in Sarawak. The conditional movement control order (CMCO) which is implemented statewide is expected to be in effect until April 12 after its extension late last month.
