PADAWAN: Police last Sunday arrested a 17-year-old who was believed to be involved in substance abuse.
According to Padawan District police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, the arrest took place at a roadside at Kampung Haji Baki around 5.15pm.
The team from the Padawan Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) arrested the local teenager and found drugs suspected to be syabu weighing 0.32g and valued at RM50.
Aidil added that the teen tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.
He is being remanded to assist in the investigation. The case is investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
If convicted under Section 12(2), the suspect can be fined not more than RM100,000 or jailed not more than 5 years or both.
If convicted under Section 15(1) (a), he can be fined not more than RM5,000 or jailed not more than two years.
