Tengah confident BN will win Mukah

DALAT: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan is full of confidence that the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for P.213 Mukah will deliver. He said it is because Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib inherits the blood of a leader that has contributed tremendously to Mukah and Sarawak as a whole. “Hence, she is the right representative to bring the voice from this area in Parliament,” he said.

Tengah pointed that her father, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, had t rans formed Mukah from a sleepy sago town into the present vibrant town, and which would become a Smart City soon. “The combination of young blood and experienced ones will be able to realise the aspiration of turning Mukah into a Smart City, and the surrounding districts to attend the much desired level of development.

“At the same time we should thank the past leaders, l ike Datuk Seri Effendi Nowawi and the incumbent Mukah Member of Pa r l i ament , Tan S r i Dr Muhammad Leo Toyad and others for their priceless contributions to Mukah,” he said. Hence, he called upon the people to give their undivided support to the BN candidate on polling day and give her the biggest majority possible.

Tengah said this while speaking at the Traditional Village Landownership Letter Presentation Ceremony held at Stadium Perpaduan here yesterday morning.

He considered the cordial relationship between the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg would augur well in the effort of bringing more development to the state.

“For the last nine years, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak had visited Sarawak 61 times visited more than 120 places. “The biggest development project thus far is the Pan Borneo Highway costing some RM20 billion. During his walkabout alone, the Prime Minister had approved allocations worth RM4.6 billion for various projects,” he said.

Tengah added that Najib was also the first to introduce BRIM and to come up with a number of assistances to alleviate the burden of the people. “Not only that. The Prime Minister also gave allocations for the state’s perimeter survey and also to improve our Internet access,” he stressed. He said the rural areas in the state are in need of a stable government that can deliver like the BN to ensure total development.

“We don’t need parties from West Malaysia l ike those in Pakatan Harapan to develop our state. Parties from our own land like PBB, SUPP, PRS and others can govern our state well,” he added. Dur ing the event, he also revealed the various projects costing over RM1 billion that had been implemented, on-going and to be implemented under the 11th Malaysia Plan in the area, and handed the list to Mukah Resident, Awang Johari. Me anwhi l e , Mini s t e r o f Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who also spoke at the function, urged the people to go all out on May 9 to vote for the BN.

Besides Jabu and Fatimah, also present were Tellian Assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, Takan As semblyman Datuk Sri Mohd Ali Mahmud, Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, who presented the State Land and Survey Director, Mukah Division Resident Awang Johari Awang Mustapha, Dato Hanifah Jajar Taib, political secretaries to the Chief Minister, Kenil Jeraiee and Abu Seman Jahwie.
