MIRI: Rumours claiming that a well-known actor Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, was coming here for a movie filming, has been debunked by Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin yesterday.

“It is not true,” Lee opined.

The rumours of his arrival to the city were widely spread on WhatsApp since yesterday morning.

There were also claims that the retired wrestler was scheduled to arrive at Miri Airport at 3.30pm yesterday to film several scenes for his latest movie which is slated for release in 2020 and the filming location is at Coco Cabana.

“I have spoken to Coco Cabana’s management team and they have clarified to me that there was no such plans,” said Lee.

He described the act of spreading such fake news to gain the public’s interests as irresponsible.
