ENGKELILI: A search operation was launched yesterday morning to look for three friends from Rh Tengak Basi Eli Lemanak, Engkelili who went fishing at Ulu Sungai Suai here on Thursday afternoon but failed to return.
The three friends were James Jelai Ak Adam, born in 2000, Anthonio Lumbeng ak Joseph, born in 1999 and Cassey ak Tony, also born in 1999.
The search operation was launched after Anthonio’s father lodged a report at the Sri Aman Police Headquarters.
The search team, which comprised firemen and police personnel, assembled at the Engkelili Police Station yesterday at 7.30am and the operation was launched at 9.40am .
During the operation, a boat travelled upriver for one kilometre while the jungle within a two-kilometre radius of the place where the three friends went missing was searched.
The three friends were found safe but tired by villagers at 10.05am within a three kilometre radius of the place where they went missing. The search operation ended at noon yesterday.
