Three teens nabbed for stealing motorcycle

MIRI: Police arrested three teenagers within 12 hours after they reportedly stole a motorcycle at Tudan Flat, Permyjaya last Thursday (June 17).

The motorcycle owner had lodged a police report after finding his machine which was parked in front of his house missing at about 8.30am.

Following the report, a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team managed to arrest the suspects aged between 15 and 16 years at 8.30pm.

The team also seized the motorcycle parts which had been cannibalised by the thieves.  

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari said the suspects were arrested near the bushes at Pantai Batu 1, Jalan Lutong-Kuala Baram.

He said the teenagers were also issued RM1,500 compound each for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the movement control order (MCO).

The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for theft.
