Tour programme includes safety awareness on Pan Borneo Highway

The Sarawak PWD, Pan Borneo Highway Unit entourage makes a courtesy call on Miri Divisional Resident Jamalie Busri (third right) yesterday.

MIRI: The Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD), Pan Borneo Highway Unit entourage made a courtesy call on Miri Divisional Resident, Jamalie Busri, at his office here yesterday.

Among matters discussed during the one-hour session was pertaining to the Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway Safety Advocacy Tour Programme 2023.

According to the manager (Corporate Communications and Land Issues) of Sarawak PWD Pan Borneo Highway Sahrein Maloh, the tour programmes for all divisions throughout the state would be implemented by disseminating a safety awareness briefing and traffic issues on Sarawak’s Pan Borneo Highway which would involve all community leaders (KMKK) under the administration of Miri Division.

Miri Divisional Resident Jamalie Busri, when met later, expressed the hope that community leaders and village leaders under the administration of Miri Division would be able to spread the information obtained through this programme to their respective areas.

This programme is jointly organised by PWD Sarawak, the police, Road Transport Department (RTD) and Pan Borneo Highway Management Sarawak Sdn Bhd (PLPS) with the support of the federal Ministry of Works, Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak and Ministry of Transport Sarawak.

For the Miri Division, this programme is expected to be implemented in the third week of next month.

Also present were JKR North Region Pan Borneo Highway manager Ir Siaw Ming Chian, Pan Borneo Highway Branch civil engineer PWD Sarawak Muhammad Afiq Aziz, acting Head of Planning and Social Development Section Nora Shafia Muhiyuddin and Miri Resident Office social administration officer Melissa Labut.
