BINTULU: A New Year’s Day accident left two men seriously injured after their vehicles collided near Paragon Bintulu, here.

A state Fire and Rescue operations centre spokesman said the collision involved a five-seater sedan car and a van. Both victims, aged 20 and 67, were rushed to the hospital for further treatment.

One man was seen lying on the road while the rescue team administered first aid on the victim, who was suffering from injuries before wheeling him into the ambulance.

A team of firemen from the Bintulu fire station was dispatched to the accident scene upon receiving an emergency call at 9pm.

It is believed that both vehicles lost control, thereby resulting in a collision, with the sedan turned upside down while the van was badly wrecked.
