KUCHING: A cleaner from Kampung Siol Kandis had her handbag snatched by two men on a motorcycle on Tuesday at 2.40pm.

The victim said she was walking along Taman Sri Sarawak when the pillion rider grabbed her handbag after they sneaked up on her.

She added that she failed to notice the motorcycle’s plate number as she was in shock. Stolen were her identity card, personal documents and RM200 cash. A police report was lodged.

In another snatching case, an elderly man almost fell off his bike when a motorcyclist grabbed his wife’s handbag on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim from Kampung Pulo Ulu, Petra Jaya said they were at a stop at a traffic light at 3.30pm when the snatch happened. The handbag was placed in between them and the sudden jerk caused him to nearly lose his balance.

His wife lost RM800 in cash and other personal documents.  The suspect, he said, was on a Honda EX 5. However, he could not recall the colour or the number. Police are investigating both cases.
