KUCHING: One hundred recipients were conferred state awards by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya on Thursday.

Heading the list of recipients was Deputy Minister of Transport Hasbi Habibollah who received the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS) award.

Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni and senior supervisor of the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS), Amnah Ayup received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) award.

Four persons received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC), namely deputy State Attorney-General Saferi Ali, Betong Division Resident Friday Belik, Protocol and State Events Management Unit director Azlan Ali Badri and former Public Works Department deputy director (asset management) Junaidi Sahadan.

The Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) was awarded to 16 recipients while the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was awarded to 35 others.

Forty-two persons received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), including a posthumous award for the late Dr Muhamad Hatta Mohd Ramlee, represented by Ajing Kartini Mohd Ramlee.

Present at the investiture ceremony were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar and MIS president Datuk Misnu Taha.
