TYT confers state awards on 156

KUCHING: A total of 156 people who were conferred state awards received their honours from Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at State Astana here, today (Jan 18).

The ceremony began with the awarding of the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS) to three recipients led by Ahmad Johnnie Zawawi.

Ahmad Johnnie, who is Igan MP, was followed by Sarawak State Federal Development Office (SDO) director Jasni Jubli and Sarawak Heart Centre cardiologist Dr Alan Fong Yean Yip.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) to Malaysian paralifter, Bonnie Bunyau Gustin.

Meanwhile, the Pingat Perkhidmatan Awam Johan Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC) was awarded to five recipients namely Sutekno Ahmad Belon, Adana Jed, Abdul Wahab Rahim, Toeiyah Tioh and Professor Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim.

The Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC) was awarded to six recipients namely Chiew Chee Yau, Abdul Aziz Mohamad Yusuf, Fathi Hambali, Sebi Abang, Dr Adrian Susin Ambud and Jack Liam.

In addition, 12 recipients were awarded the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS).

The ceremony also witnessed the awarding of the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) to 15 recipients as well as the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) to 30 recipients.

The Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) was awarded to 31 recipients while the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) was awarded to 24 recipients.

The ceremony ended with the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) to 29 recipients.

Present at the ceremony was Taib’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib.

Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunications (Utility) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki were also present.
