KUCHING: Despite heavy rain, visitors did not miss their chance to attend the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house organised by Head of State (TYT) Tun Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The open house, held at Astana Negeri today (Apr 10), marked Wan Junaidi’s first time organising it after becoming Sarawak’s Governor.

Visitors were treated to traditional Hari Raya dishes such as lemang, rendang, chicken and beef satay, chicken curry, assorted pastries, layer cake, drinks and more.

The open house also attracted tourists from abroad who joined in celebrating Hari Raya in the Land of the Hornbills.

Throughout the event, Wan Junaidi and his wife warmly welcomed the visitors and also gave out ‘duit raya’ to children.

Notable guests included Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, who arrived around 11.17am.

State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
