ROBAN: A water supply project in the Ulu Roban area is expected to start by the end of this year or early 2023.

Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju said the project, funded by the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) and worth RM14.3mil, was approved in the second quarter of last year.

“It involves the installation of pipes of various sizes along 14 kilometres, the construction of reservoir ponds, booster stations and related works that benefit the residents of the six longhouses who have not yet enjoyed the basic facilities.

“The project has been included in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and funded by the federal government through KPLB, with the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) as the implementing agency.

“I understand that the project has been in the design process since last November, while the tender process to appoint a contractor is expected to be carried out in the third quarter of this year by September at the latest.
