KUCHING: A Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) student has been selected for the Ministry of Education (MOE)-Huawei Seeds for The Future Programme 2019 in China.

Logasshini Nilavezhilan, a final year student from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), was among the 10 Malaysian university students who were selected as finalists for the programme in Putrajaya last weekend.

MOE-Huawei Seeds for The Future is a flagship programme of Huawei, which is successfully being conducted globally. This year’s programme is its sixth edition.

In China, the students will undergo an intensive one week cultural and language awareness training in Beijing, followed by a week-long intensive ICT training at Huawei HQ in Shenzhen, according to a media release from Unimas earlier today.

“The students will get an opportunity to learn the latest of ICT technology from Huawei, which can boost their future career prospects as well as their general knowledge. For 2019, the top 30 finalists were selected from among 1,912 students of 19 universities which participated in the Seeds Talk 2019.
