MIRI: The first day of the second phase of the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme here began smoothly at the vaccine distribution centre at Eastwood Valley Hall.

A total of 3,510 vaccines were received for this second phase which targeted vulnerable groups and the elderly aged between 69 and 99 based on the list received by the Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC).

This second phase will run until April 29 at the Eastwood Valley Hall, Miri Hospital and Marudi Hospital.

Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is the minister in charge of Miri DDMC, had gone to observe the second phase on Friday (April 23).

Joining him were acting Miri Resident and Miri DDMC chairman Abdul Aziz Bin Mohd Yusuf, Miri Division Health officer Dr P Raviwharmman, and Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong.

Lee urged the vaccine recipients not to arrive at the hall too early.

“Please follow the appointment given and  preferably  come to Eastwood Valley Hall 30 minutes earlier. That will be sufficient.”

“So far, I’m satisfied with the process at Eastwood Valley Hall.”
