SERIAN: A vehicle believed to have skidded and plunged into a ravine along Mile 28, Jalan Kuching-Serian, burst into flames late yesterday night (Dec 9).
The incident which did not involve any injuries or casualties, happened around 11.30pm near Kampung Lintang Baru.
Firemen from Siburan station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call pertaining to a vehicle fire.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said witnesses informed them that the driver whose identity is not known, managed to get out of the vehicle safely and left the scene.
The extinguishing works were carried out after the team carried out monitoring to ensure that there is no one trapped in the vehicle.
However, the type of vehicle could not be identified as it was completely destroyed in the fire and the owner was nowhere to be seen.
After ensuring the situation was safe, the team wrapped up the operation at 12.40am and headed back to their station.
