SARATOK: Krian Assemblyman Friday Belik has approved an allocation of RM10,000 for the Saratok/Saribas ATM Veterans Association.

He hoped the association will continue to be active in community activities and praised its effort to combine the two festivals, namely Hari Gawai and Hari Raya, saying this is something unique in Sarawak.

“This also shows the attitude of tolerance and unity among the races in Sarawak that has been established for a long time and it is hoped it will always be preserved for the sake of prosperity,” he said when officiating at the Ramah Mesra Gawai Raya programme at Dewan Sri Krian, recently.

Friday was also grateful the country has entered the endemic phase, making it possible to hold such gatherings.

“This shows that the people of Sarawak in particular are compliant with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set,” he added.

In another development, he also approved another allocation of RM8,000 to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rh.Insol and RM6,000 to the women’s bureau.
