KUCHING: The statement by former United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) member Zool Amali Hussin, also known as ‘Bozz Jebat’, who recently insulted Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in a six-minute video clip, has been described as mere cheap publicity.

Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah pointed out that although the Federal Constitution stipulates that every resident in the nation has the privilege of freedom of speech and expression, one must know how to use it properly.

“You cannot use your freedom of expression to insult others and incite racial harmony.

“Moreover, it is clear that Zool did not even do his homework before posting his video on social media,” he said after a press conference on Sarawak Bumiputera Amateur Golf Association (PGABS) Interstate Junior Golf Tournament at Baitulmakmur Building II today.

Abdul Karim stated that the appointment of Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture is not made by Abang Johari but the Prime Minister himself.

“Why is he so stupid? Before commenting on our leaders, he must do his homework first on what the leaders have achieved in the state.

“Cheap publicity will not bring you anywhere. Who are you compared to Abang Johari? It’s like comparing heaven and earth.

“I do not want to deliberate too much on his statement because his level is too low for me to give my comments,” he said.
